Bakeboost docs
How can we help?
Practical guides and straight answers for running your bakery — orders, recipes, costing, pricing, payments and more.
Common questions
Why didn't my customer get their email?
A customer says they never received their confirmation, quote, invoice or receipt? Work down this list — from the most common cause (a wrong or blank email address) to the least — and you'll usually fix it in a minute.
How much should I charge for a cake?
Build a price that covers your ingredients, your time and your overheads — plus a profit — with Bakeboost doing the maths and the AI Pricing Advisor sanity-checking it.
How many servings is my cake?
How many people does an 8-inch, 10-inch or tiered cake feed? Serving charts for round, square and shaped cakes, plus the built-in calculator that works it out and prints a cutting guide.
Which payment gateway works in my country?
Stripe or Square — which can you actually use where you are? Why a payment link sometimes fails, and how to pick the right gateway for your country and currency.
How do I take a deposit and get the balance paid?
Take a deposit up front, let Bakeboost track the balance and chase it automatically with timed reminders, and give customers a link to pay online.
How do I move my data into Bakeboost?
Switching from Bake Diary or a spreadsheet? Import your customers and products in a few minutes — what imports, what doesn't yet, and how to get a clean result.
How do I send an invoice or receipt?
Email a professional invoice or receipt straight from an order — a PDF is attached, replies come back to you, and if you've connected a card gateway the customer can pay from a secure link in the same email.
Inquiry vs quote vs order — what's the difference?
An inquiry is a customer's first request with no price yet, a quote is a price you offer them to accept or decline, and an order is confirmed, bakeable work. Here's how each one flows into the next.
How do I refund a customer?
Record a full or partial refund against an order — pick the items, the amount and the reason. Bakeboost records the refund; you reverse the actual card charge in Stripe or Square.
How do I add tax (VAT or GST) to my invoices?
Add your VAT, GST or sales-tax rate once under Settings, and Bakeboost applies it to orders, shows it on invoices, and totals what you've collected in the Tax Summary report. UAE bakers get a compliant Tax Invoice with a TRN.
